El título creado por Miles Ratledge es una paráfrasis de una frase bíblica de la religión cristiana, encontrado en Isaías 53:6.

02 es una reversión, con nueva letra, de la pista Napalm, del primer demo del grupo.

14 fue una improvisación grabada en una sola toma sin ensayo, su título deriva del cuento The shuttered room de August Derleth, quien se inspiró en H.P. Lovecraft.

El título ideado por Miles Ratledge en la jerga inglesa refiere al excremento, pensado como un comentario autocrítico sobre la calidad de la grabación.

01 instrumental originalmente tocado por la banda anterior de Quinn, Curfew. Es instrumental, pero tiene introducción hablada y un grito de Bullen.

02 elegida por Crass para el compilado Bullshit detector three (1984), pero la banda pidió no incluira debido a su incomodidad con las letras.

03 es la versión original de la pista con diferente letra de The mushroom tea song, la cual apareció más tarde en el demo Hatred surge (1985) de Napalm Death.

05 fue más tarde regrabada para el compilado Bullshit detector three (1984) del grupo anarquista Crass. Tiene una sección introductoria eliminada en la versión del compilado.

06 fue la primera pista esscrita por el grupo en diciembre de 1981.
