Monsters of rock tour

El 27 de mayo de 1988, comenzaba en East Troy, Wisconsin, el Van Halen's Monster of Rock, una versión norteamericana del mítico Monsters of rock.

La grilla de bandas la integraron Kingdom Come, Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions y Van Halen, las cuales actuaron en ese mismo orden.

La tórrida tarde del inicio de la gira, se vendieron casi 100.000 entradas. Originalmente la gira contó con 28 fechas en 23 ciudades de los Estados Unidos y el cierre se realizó el 30 de Julio en Denver.

Hubo conciertos con localidades agotadas, como en Oxford, Los Ángeles y San Francisco, pero la convocatoria no cumplió con las expectativas, en especial en las ciudades de la costa este, donde se reportaron pérdidas. De hecho, el segundo concierto en East Rutherford del 27 de junio fue cancelado.
