Uno de los discos más importantes e influyentes de la historia del metal. Venom tomó el heavy metal de las bandas clásicas como Motorhead, Judas Priest o Black Sabbath y lo llevó a otro nivel de velocidad y brutalidad nunca visto hasta entonces. Puede que en el proceso se haya perdido un poco el lado técnico, pero gracias a su sonido tan feroz y su aura satánica se convirtieron en una de las bandas más polémicas y veneradas de principios de los ochenta.

Hoy en día puede no parecer gran cosa, pero si nos situamos en el año en que salió, el 82, cuando Iron Maiden era quizás la banda más extrema del momento es natural entender el impacto qué causaron los Venom. Normalmente se les atribuye el ser pioneros del black metal, y puede tener algo de cierto, pero también fueron extremadamente influyentes en el desarrollo del thrash y el death metal.

Entonces, así como el primer disco de Black Sabbath fue el origen del heavy metal, diría que los dos primeros de Venom son los inicios del metal extremo. Quien se hubiera imaginado qué lo que llegaría después de este disco fuese aun más impactante.🤘🤘🤘
