Escribir una autobiografía te mueve el piso de una forma que no te esperas y supongo que por eso Nicko McBrain decidió que las páginas de un libro no eran suficientes. El hombre va a armar las valijas y se va a meter en una gira de charlas, de esas de sentarse a contar cosas que solo se saben tras bambalinas, para hablar de la vida real, de la que se vive a los golpes y con el corazón en la mano. Quiere mirar a la gente a los ojos en teatros de Alemania, Holanda, Escandinavia, Irlanda y el Reino Unido durante los últimos meses de este año. La idea no es dar un discurso corporativo ni mucho menos, sino sentarse a recordar cómo se convirtió en el baterista de Iron Maiden, los errores de una juventud que tuvo de todo, las victorias que te hacen llorar y esos momentos oscuros que todos pasamos pero que nadie quiere admitir en público. Es una oportunidad de esas que pasan una vez porque, seamos sinceros, no todos los días un tipo así se sienta a conversar contigo como si estuvieran en la mesa de un bar.

Esta locura de gira se llama Una Noite com Nicko McBrain – Turnê 2026 y el itinerario es largo, denso, de esos que cansan solo de mirarlos pero que él va a cumplir porque así es este negocio. Todo arranca en octubre, específicamente el 26 en el Alte Oper de Frankfurt en Alemania, para seguir al día siguiente, el 27, en el Tanzbrunnen de Colônia, también en Alemania. El 29 le toca el turno al Passionskirche de Berlín y cierran el mes el 30 en el Backstage de Munique, todavía en territorio alemán.

Luego llega noviembre y la cosa no frena. El 3 se presenta en el 013 de Tilburg en Holanda. De ahí viaja a Escandinavia porque el 8 tiene cita en el Savoy Theatre de Helsinque en Finlândia, el 9 en el Rockefeller de Oslo en Noruega, el 11 en el Gota Lejon de Estocolmo en Suécia y el 13 en el DR Studio 2 de Copenhague en Dinamarca. Hacen un desvío extraño pero emocionante el 15 para el Malta Metal Festival en St. Julian's, Malta, y luego retoman el rumbo el 18 en el Ambassador de Dublin en Irlanda. El cierre de noviembre es puro Reino Unido con el 23 en el Glee Club de Birmingham, el 26 en el Bush Hall de Londres, el 28 en el The Gate de Cardiff y el 30 en el Komedia de Bath.

Para diciembre quedan las últimas energías. El 1 estará en el Academy 2 de Manchester en Reino Unido y todo termina el 3 en el Oran Mor de Glasgow, también en el Reino Unido.

El propio Nicko lo puso en sus propias palabras y creo que se nota la emoción sincera, sin filtros, cuando dice que "Fue una verdadera honra escribir mi propia autobiografía y tener la oportunidad de revisitar mis recuerdos, reviviendo todas las experiencias que hicieron de mí quien soy y me trajeron hasta donde estoy hoy. Estoy emocionado y muy feliz por llevar estas historias a la carretera y compartirlas con todos ustedes. Me siento realmente bendecido por poder decir 'Hola, Muchachos y Muchachas' en persona a todos ustedes a finales de este año. Vamos a divertirnos mucho juntos, así que vengan a unirse a mí para una gran noche. ¡Tengo MUCHAS historias que quiero contar a todos ustedes!".

Las entradas se van a empezar a vender la próxima semana, así que hay que estar atentos a lo que venga porque esto se va a terminar rápido. A veces uno se olvida de que detrás de los platos y las baquetas hay un tipo que solo quiere hablar con sus amigos.
