Manual del suicidio, subtitulado Historia, técnica, actualidad, es un libro de Claude Guillon y Yves le Bonniec , publicado en 1982 por ediciones Alain Moreau en Francia.

Este libro cuenta la historia, diferentes técnicas y relata noticias de diferentes suicidios. En el décimo capítulo, están incluidas incluidas recetas de medicamentos y nombres de fármacos letales, uno de los detalles usados por quienes abogan por prohibir su publicación.

Este libro fue censurado en Francia, incluso retirados sus ejemplares de las librerías. De acuerdo a sus oponentes, puede constituir una incitación al suicidio. Según sus defensores, levanta el tabú sobre el tema del derecho a morir y su prohibición está comprendida en la censura y va en contra de la libertad de opinión.

Publicado en 1982, se vendió más de cien mil copias, fue traducido a seis idiomas diferentes, pero está prohibida su venta en Francia nueve años después de su publicación.

La disputa por esta censura fue combatida durante trece años, en diez procesos judiciales. En 1983, el senado aprobó un proyecto de ley de castigar la incitación al suicidio, aprobado por la Asamblea Nacional en 1987. Prohíbe no sólo la incitación al suicidio, también la propaganda o publicidad de cualquier producto, objeto o método presentado como para cometerlo. En el libro se menciona estos los debates.

En 2013, el libro era difícil de encontrar en Francia. Claude Guillon también publicó un libro en el cual mira hacia atrás este período y los litigios por su anterior texto. Se llama Derecho a la muerte: suicidio, manual, (2004) ediciones Hors Commerce.
